Target Information
Mouse protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type B (PTPRB) is a transmembrane receptor phosphatase of the PTP family, a core regulator of tyrosine phosphorylation-mediated cellular signaling. It features two conserved extracellular fibronectin type III domains for ligand interaction, a single transmembrane segment, and two intracellular catalytic domains critical for dephosphorylation activity. It localizes predominantly to the plasma membrane of mouse endothelial cells, vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiomyocytes, with negligible expression in epithelial and immune cell populations. The protein mediates signal modulation of growth factors and adhesion molecules, with conserved motifs for substrate recognition and catalytic function. Mouse PTPRB shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct vascular specificity differentiating it from PTPRA and PTPRC.
