Target Information
Mouse DNA-Activated Protein Kinase, Catalytic Polypeptide (DNA-PKcs) is a key component of the DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK) complex, which plays a critical role in maintaining genomic integrity. DNA-PKcs is involved in the non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) pathway, essential for repairing DNA double-strand breaks. It phosphorylates various substrates, facilitating DNA repair, replication, and cell cycle regulation. DNA-PKcs also contributes to immune system development through its role in V(D)J recombination. As a central player in DNA repair and cellular responses to DNA damage, DNA-PKcs is an important target for studying cellular responses to genotoxic stress and cancer therapy.
