Target Information

Mouse protein kinase B alpha (Akt1) is a 57-kDa serine/threonine kinase ubiquitously expressed in murine tissues, central to PI3K-Akt signaling. Activated by growth factors, cytokines, and metabolic cues via phosphorylation, it regulates downstream targets controlling cell survival, proliferation, glucose metabolism, and cytoskeletal remodeling. Critical for mouse embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and stress responses, it modulates physiological processes from muscle growth to immune function. Dysregulated activation associates with cancer, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders in murine models. As a key mediator of pro-survival and metabolic signaling networks, mouse Akt1 is a critical target for studying disease pathogenesis and developing kinase-targeted therapeutics.
