Target Information

Mouse protease, serine 2 (Prss2, trypsin-2) is a 25 kDa secreted serine protease whose N-terminal activation peptide is cleaved to expose a canonical catalytic triad (His-Asp-Ser) that hydrolyzes Lys/Arg C-terminal bonds. A solvent-exposed 12-residue "TNS" surface loop (aa 187-198) bordering the S1 pocket adopts a strain-unique β-bulge, presenting a conformational epitope preserved in both zymogen and mature forms. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native Prss2 in pancreatic acinar granules, intestinal lumen, and serum, delivering crisp apical staining and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to Prss1 or other serine proteases.
