Product Overview
BioVenic rabbit polyclonal antibody is specific for mouse procollagen I N-terminal propeptide. It is purified by protein A/G. It can be applied to WB, IHC, ICC and IP assays of mouse procollagen I N-terminal propeptide.
Specifications
Target Information
Mouse procollagen I N-terminal propeptide (PINP) is the 140-residue globular extension cleaved from amino-propeptide of type I procollagen by N-proteinases during fibril assembly. The domain contains a cysteine-rich von Willebrand factor type C module and multiple N-linked glycosylation sites, forming disulfide-stabilized trimers that circulate in blood after release. Its triple-helical junction remains non-helical, distinguishing PINP from mature collagen. Antibodies raised against recombinant mouse PINP detect both the intact propeptide and its post-translational variants with negligible cross-reactivity to procollagen III N-propeptide or denatured collagen chains, enabling direct measurement of type I collagen synthesis in mouse serum and tissue extracts.
