Target Information
Mouse Platelet/Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (PECAM-1/CD31) is a 130-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein concentrated at endothelial cell junctions and platelet granule membranes. It mediates homophilic adhesion to maintain vascular integrity and supports leukocyte transmigration during inflammation. PECAM-1 also transduces inhibitory signals that modulate platelet aggregation and angiogenesis. Found on endothelial cells, platelets, and subsets of leukocytes, it is a widely used marker for vascular biology and a key target for studying thrombosis, atherosclerosis, and immune cell trafficking.
