Target Information

Mouse platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFRβ) is a 123 kDa single-pass tyrosine kinase whose extracellular Ig-like domain 5 locks onto PDGF-BB, while an intracellular kinase insert couples to PI3K and PLCγ pathways. A solvent-exposed "VHS" ridge (aa 740-750) within the juxtamembrane hinge is unique among PDGFR isoforms, presenting a fixation-stable epitope absent from PDGFRα. Antibodies targeting this ridge trace native PDGFRβ in vascular smooth muscle, cardiac fibroblasts, and mesenchymal stem cells, delivering crisp membrane rims and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to the alpha receptor.
