Target Information

Mouse oncostatin M receptor (OSMR) is a transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the Osmr gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 11. It belongs to the class I cytokine receptor family, featuring conserved extracellular cytokine-binding domains, a single transmembrane segment and an intracellular domain for signal transduction. It localizes to cell membrane, with tissue-specific expression in mouse hepatocytes, fibroblasts and epithelial cells, with minimal levels in hematopoietic tissues. The protein forms heterodimeric complexes for ligand binding, with conserved motifs for structural stability and interaction specificity. Mouse OSMR shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct ligand affinity differentiating it from related cytokine receptors.
