Target Information
Mouse nucleoporin 37 (NUP37) is a core structural subunit of the nuclear pore complex (NPC), a key mediator of nucleocytoplasmic transport and nuclear envelope integrity. It features a conserved N-terminal domain for protein-protein interaction, a central coiled-coil region for NPC scaffold assembly, and a C-terminal domain critical for binding to other nucleoporins. It localizes exclusively to the nuclear envelope of mouse somatic and germ cells, with negligible expression in cytoplasmic compartments. The protein mediates selective passage of macromolecules across the nuclear membrane, with conserved motifs for stabilizing NPC architecture. Mouse NUP37 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct structural specificity differentiating it from NUP62 and NUP98.
