Target Information

Mouse myosin heavy chain 1 (Myh1) is a 220-kDa motor protein and core component of sarcomeric thick filaments in skeletal muscle. It mediates ATP-dependent actin interaction, generating the mechanical force for muscle contraction and movement. Expressed specifically in fast-twitch skeletal muscle fibers of mice-predominantly in limb muscles, diaphragm, and abdominal muscles-it determines muscle contractile speed and force production. As a key regulator of skeletal muscle function and fiber type identity, mouse Myh1 is a critical target for investigating muscle physiology, neuromuscular disorders, and adaptive muscle remodeling processes.
