It is widely expressed in multiple tissues and localized primarily to the mitochondrial outer membrane. The protein forms a compact conformation to maintain membrane-associated complex assembly. Its characteristic mitochondrial outer membrane localization and structural features clearly distinguish it from other mitochondrial transport-related proteins.
