Mouse Mannose Receptor C Type 1 (MRC1) is a specialized lectin receptor expressed predominantly on macrophages, dendritic cells, and certain endothelial cells. It recognizes and binds to mannose and fucose residues on glycoproteins and glycolipids of pathogens or apoptotic cell debris. MRC1 facilitates the endocytosis and degradation of these materials, playing a critical role in pathogen clearance and antigen presentation.
