Target Information
Mouse macrophage inflammatory protein 1 gamma (MIP-1γ) is a small secreted chemokine encoded by the Ccl9 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 11. It belongs to the CC chemokine subfamily, with a molecular weight of ~8 kDa and conserved cysteine-cysteine (CC) motif at the N-terminus. It is predominantly expressed in mouse macrophages, monocytes, and activated lymphocytes, with tissue-specific presence in spleen, thymus and inflamed tissues. Mouse MIP-1γ harbors a conserved chemokine domain critical for structural stability and receptor binding, mediating leukocyte chemotaxis, immune cell recruitment and inflammatory cascade modulation. It shares high sequence homology with mammalian orthologs, with distinct binding affinity that differentiates it from other MIP-1 family members.
