Target Information
Mouse lymphocyte adaptor protein (LAP) is a cytoplasmic signaling adaptor protein of the immune cell adaptor family. It features a conserved N-terminal phosphotyrosine-binding domain, multiple proline-rich motifs and C-terminal SH3 domain-binding sites critical for structural integrity. It localizes to cell cytoplasm and immune synapses, with tissue-specific expression in mouse T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes and natural killer cells, with negligible levels in non-hematopoietic tissues. The protein mediates signal transduction cascade assembly and kinase recruitment, with conserved motifs for intermolecular interaction. Mouse LAP shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct immune cell specificity differentiating it from LAT and SLP-76.
