Target Information
Mouse LIM and calponin homology domains containing protein 1 (LCHD1) is a cytoskeletal-associated protein with dual conserved domains, a key regulator of actin cytoskeleton dynamics. It features an N-terminal calponin homology (CH) domain for actin binding, two tandem LIM domains for protein-protein interaction, and a C-terminal tail critical for structural stability and subcellular targeting. It localizes to the cytoplasm and cell cortex of mouse fibroblasts, cardiomyocytes and neuronal cells, with negligible levels in hematopoietic and epithelial tissues. The protein mediates actin filament organization and cell motility modulation, with conserved motifs for binding to cytoskeletal adaptors. Mouse LCHD1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct tissue specificity differentiating it from other CH-LIM family proteins.
