Target Information
Mouse Kisspeptin Receptor (KISS1R, GPR54) is a G-protein-coupled receptor that binds kisspeptins to trigger phospholipase C signaling, elevating intracellular calcium and activating MAPK pathways. Expressed in hypothalamic GnRH neurons, pituitary, and gonads, it mediates the central control of reproduction by stimulating GnRH release, thereby regulating LH and FSH secretion. KISS1R is essential for pubertal onset and fertility. As a pivotal gatekeeper of the reproductive axis, KISS1R is a key target for studies of puberty, endocrine disorders, and contraceptive development.
