Target Information

Mouse interleukin-9 receptor (IL-9R) is a 468-residue type I transmembrane glycoprotein whose extracellular region contains a cytokine-binding module and a WSXWS motif that together cradle IL-9, while a single transmembrane helix links to a 216-aa cytoplasmic box 1/2 region that recruits JAK1 and STAT5. Expressed selectively on mast cells, T-helper cells and lung epithelium, IL-9R localizes to lipid rafts and perinuclear recycling endosomes. Antibodies raised against the ectodomain or cytoplasmic tail detect native, glycosylated and truncated forms with negligible cross-reactivity to IL-2R or IL-4R chains, enabling selective immunoblot and immunofluorescence visualization in mouse tissue homogenates and cultured immune cells.
