Target Information

Mouse Insulin-like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2) is a member of the insulin family of polypeptide growth factors, playing a critical role in fetal development and growth. It is primarily produced by the liver and other tissues, with high expression during the prenatal period. IGF2 binds to the IGF-1 receptor and the IGF2/Mannose-6-phosphate receptor, promoting cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. In mice, IGF2 is essential for skeletal myogenesis and is regulated by microRNAs such as miR-125b. It also influences glucose metabolism in adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, and liver.
