Mouse IGSF2 is a type I transmembrane cell surface protein constructed with repeated extracellular immunoglobulin domains to maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is abundantly expressed on various immune cell populations and mediates cell-cell contact events at plasma membrane surfaces. Its multi-domain membrane-anchored adhesion structure and immune tissue-biased expression separate it from soluble circulating cytokines, cytoplasmic signal adaptors and chromatin-interacting nuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified single-domain assemblies and ubiquitous expression across non-immune somatic tissues.
