Its multi-domain nuclear regulatory structure and tissue-selective expression distinguish it from transmembrane surface receptors, soluble secreted signaling cytokines and cytoplasmic scaffold adaptors with simplified single-domain assemblies and ubiquitous expression across various somatic tissues.
