Specifications
Target Information
Mouse glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is a post-translationally modified form of hemoglobin A, generated by non-enzymatic glycation of the N-terminal valine residue of β-globin chains. It features a conserved globular tetrameric structure composed of two α- and two glycated β-subunits, with a stable ketoamine linkage critical for its structural identity. It localizes exclusively to the cytoplasm of mouse erythrocytes, with distribution consistent with the lifespan of red blood cells in peripheral circulation. The protein retains the core heme-binding domain for oxygen transport, with the glycated moiety serving as a structural marker of glucose exposure. Mouse HbA1c shares core structural domains with native hemoglobin, and has distinct modification specificity differentiating it from non-glycated hemoglobin isoforms.
