Target Information

Mouse glutaredoxin 3 (GLRX3) is a redox-active protein encoded by the Glrx3 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 11. It belongs to the glutaredoxin family, featuring two conserved glutathione-binding domains and active-site cysteine residues critical for redox activity. It localizes to cytoplasm, mitochondria and nucleus, with ubiquitous expression in mouse tissues and enrichment in liver, kidney, heart and skeletal muscle. The protein mediates disulfide bond reduction, glutathione-dependent redox regulation and iron-sulfur cluster assembly. Mouse GLRX3 shares high sequence homology with mammalian orthologs, harbors conserved functional motifs for substrate binding, and has distinct subcellular localization that differentiates it from other glutaredoxin isoforms.
