Target Information

Mouse Galanin is a 29-amino acid neuropeptide with a wide range of biological effects, particularly within the central and peripheral nervous systems. It is highly conserved across species, with the first 15 amino acids being essential for receptor binding. Galanin acts through three specific G-protein-coupled receptors (GALR1, GALR2, and GALR3), which mediate various intracellular signaling pathways, such as inhibition of cAMP synthesis and activation of potassium channels. This peptide plays important roles in modulating neuronal activity, regulating feeding behavior, and influencing immune responses.
