Mouse FOXP1 is a nuclear transcription factor with conserved forkhead DNA-binding domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It accumulates in the nucleus of mesenchymal, immune and neuronal cell populations and interacts with gene regulatory sequences. Its multi-domain nuclear regulatory architecture and tissue-selective abundance differentiate it from transmembrane receptors, soluble secreted cytokines and cytoplasmic scaffolding adaptors with simplified single-domain assemblies and widespread expression across common somatic tissues.
