Mouse FKBP8 is an endoplasmic reticulum-resident protein with conserved FK-type peptidyl-prolyl isomerase domains that support stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. Its organelle-tethered chaperone structure and intracellular membrane distribution distinguish it from secreted extracellular signaling peptides, cytoplasmic adaptor scaffolds and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
