Target Information
Mouse fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (FGFR4) is a transmembrane tyrosine kinase encoded by the Fgfr4 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 18. It belongs to the FGFR family, featuring an extracellular region with three immunoglobulin-like domains, a single transmembrane segment and an intracellular tyrosine kinase domain. FGFR4 binds specific fibroblast growth factors with heparan sulfate as cofactor to trigger dimerization and autophosphorylation. It mediates intracellular signal transduction, regulates cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, and maintains tissue homeostasis. Mouse FGFR4 has conserved functional motifs with vertebrate orthologs, showing tissue-specific expression in liver, intestine, skeletal muscle and embryonic tissues, with distinct structural and functional characteristics from other mouse FGFR subtypes.
