Target Information
Mouse eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha kinase 3 (EIF2AK3), also known as PERK, is a critical serine/threonine kinase in the integrated stress response. Activated by endoplasmic reticulum stress, it phosphorylates EIF2α, transiently attenuating global protein synthesis while enhancing translation of stress-related mRNAs. Predominantly localized to the ER membrane, EIF2AK3 is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis, regulating autophagy, apoptosis, and metabolic adaptation. Its expression is ubiquitous, with notable abundance in secretory tissues. Antibodies targeting EIF2AK3 are valuable tools for investigating ER stress signaling, unfolded protein response pathways, and metabolic disorders in murine model systems.
