Target Information
Mouse epithelial neutrophil activating peptide 78 (ENA-78) is a secreted CXC chemokine, a potent mediator of neutrophil recruitment and inflammatory response. It features a conserved CXC motif, four cysteine residues forming disulfide bonds, and an N-terminal domain critical for receptor binding and biological activity. It localizes to the extracellular fluids of mouse epithelial and endothelial cells, with negligible levels in resting hematopoietic and muscle tissues. The protein mediates neutrophil chemotaxis and adhesion, with conserved motifs for binding to CXCR2 and glycosaminoglycans. Mouse ENA-78 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct chemotactic specificity differentiating it from other CXC chemokines.
