Specifications
Target Information
Mouse elongin A (EloA) is a 773-residue transcriptional elongation factor composed of an N-terminal BC-box (residues 110-120) that binds Cul5/Rbx2, a central ubiquitin-like domain, and a C-terminal region that docks RNA polymerase II and TFIIH. The protein forms a stable heterotrimer with elongins B and C, increasing polymerase processivity by suppressing transient pausing. Expressed ubiquitously in liver, brain and kidney, elongin A localizes to nuclear speckles and active transcription sites. Antibodies raised against the BC-box or C-terminal peptide detect native, phosphorylated and ubiquitinated isoforms with negligible cross-reactivity to elongin B or C, enabling precise immunoblot and immunofluorescence analysis in mouse tissue homogenates and cultured cells.
