Mouse dihydropyrimidinase-like protein 3 (DPYSL3, CRMP4) is a 64 kDa cytosolic phosphoprotein whose five-bladed β-propeller binds tubulin heterodimers and Rho-GTP to steer growth-cone collapse. A solvent-exposed 14-residue "KVE" loop (aa 294-307) between blades 3 and 4 folds into a β-hairpin unique among CRMP isoforms, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after phosphorylation and fixation. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native DPYSL3 in hippocampal neuropil, olfactory bulb glomeruli, and Schwann-cell cytoplasm, delivering crisp punctate staining and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to DPYSL1 or DPYSL2.
