Target Information

Mouse Defensin Beta 2 (DEFB2) is an antimicrobial peptide that plays a critical role in the innate immune response. It is produced by epithelial cells and immune cells and exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, and some viruses. DEFB2 contributes to host defense by disrupting microbial membranes and modulating immune responses. In mice, DEFB2 is involved in protecting mucosal surfaces and is upregulated in response to infections. It also plays a role in wound healing and tissue repair.
