Mouse cytokine inducible SH2 containing protein (CISH) is a cytoplasmic adaptor protein with a conserved SH2 domain and compact molecular folding. It displays inducible expression in immune and hematopoietic cells and localizes mainly to the cytoplasm. The protein forms a stable conformation to mediate molecular interactions. Its characteristic SH2 domain and cytokine-responsive expression pattern clearly distinguish it from other SH2-containing adaptor proteins.
