Mouse CYP26A1 is an oxidase protein anchored to endoplasmic reticulum membranes with conserved heme-binding pockets and substrate recognition domains that preserve stable molecular conformation under physiological conditions. It accumulates within metabolic epithelial and embryonic cell populations. Its organelle-tethered catalytic framework and developmental tissue bias differentiate it from soluble cytoplasmic scaffolds, secreted extracellular signaling polypeptides and intranuclear transcription regulators with simplified single-domain assemblies and fixed single-compartment subcellular distribution profiles.
