Target Information
Mouse cluster of differentiation 42b (CD42b) is a transmembrane glycoprotein subunit of the glycoprotein Ib-IX-V complex, a core regulator of platelet adhesion and hemostatic response. It features an N-terminal extracellular leucine-rich repeat domain, a single transmembrane segment, and a cytoplasmic tail critical for intracellular signaling. It localizes exclusively to the plasma membrane of mouse platelets, with negligible expression in non-hematopoietic tissues. The protein mediates platelet-vessel wall interaction via binding to von Willebrand factor, with conserved motifs for stabilizing the glycoprotein Ib-IX-V complex. Mouse CD42b shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct binding specificity differentiating it from CD41 and CD61.
