Target Information

Mouse clara cell protein 16 (CC16, CCSP) is a 16-kDa secreted protein predominantly expressed in Clara cells of the mouse lung airway epithelium. It contributes to airway mucosal homeostasis by modulating epithelial barrier function and suppressing excessive inflammatory responses. Widely distributed in mouse respiratory tissues-with detectable levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid-it protects airway integrity and regulates immune cell activity. Beyond lung physiology, it exhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties in extrapulmonary tissues. As a key marker of Clara cell identity and airway health, mouse CC16 is a critical target for studying respiratory diseases, mucosal immunity, and inflammatory lung pathologies.
