Target Information

Mouse chromogranin A (CHGA) is a soluble secretory granule protein of the granin family. It features a conserved N-terminal signal peptide, multiple dibasic cleavage sites and C-terminal regulatory motifs critical for structural integrity. It localizes to dense-core secretory granules of mouse neuroendocrine cells, including adrenal chromaffin cells, pancreatic islet cells and hypothalamic neurons, with negligible levels in non-secretory tissues. The protein mediates granule biogenesis and peptide hormone sorting, with conserved motifs for proteolytic processing. Mouse CHGA shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct tissue specificity differentiating it from chromogranin B and secretogranin II.
