Mouse CENPI is a nuclear structural protein with conserved centromere-binding motifs that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It assembles at centromeric chromatin within dividing cell populations during mitotic progression. Its chromosome-associated scaffold structure and cell cycle-dependent nuclear enrichment differentiate it from transmembrane surface receptors, secreted extracellular signaling mediators and cytoplasmic regulatory adaptors with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
