Specifications
Target Information
Mouse CBP/p300 interacting transactivator with Glu/Asp rich carboxy terminal (CITED2) is a nuclear transactivator encoded by the Cited2 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 8. It belongs to the CITED protein family, featuring an N-terminal CBP/p300-binding domain and a C-terminal Glu/Asp-rich acidic activation region, with no DNA-binding motif itself. It localizes predominantly to cell nucleus, with ubiquitous expression in mouse tissues and enrichment in embryonic tissues, heart and lung. The protein mediates transcriptional co-activation via binding to transcription factors and histone acetyltransferases. Mouse CITED2 shares conserved functional motifs with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct interaction specificities differentiating it from CITED1 and CITED4 isoforms.
