Mouse CDH5 is a single-pass transmembrane cell adhesion glycoprotein carrying multiple conserved extracellular cadherin repeats and a cytoplasmic binding region that preserve stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It specifically enriches on plasma membranes of vascular endothelial cell populations. Its membrane-located multi-repeat architecture and endothelium-restricted expression differentiate it from soluble secreted cytokines, cytoplasmic scaffold adaptors and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
