Target Information
Mouse C4-binding protein alpha (C4BPA) is the main soluble inhibitor of the classical and lectin complement pathways. By binding nascent C4b it blocks assembly of C3 convertase and, together with factor I, catalyzes proteolytic degradation of C4b/C3b, restraining downstream complement amplification. C4BPA is constitutively produced by liver and secreted into plasma, providing systemic control of innate immune activation and tissue damage. Detection of this regulatory protein offers a reliable read-out for complement status in inflammatory, infectious and autoimmune models.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
