Target Information

Mouse Alpha 2-Antiplasmin (a2PI) is a serine protease inhibitor that plays a crucial role in regulating plasmin activity. It forms a stable complex with plasmin, preventing its proteolytic activity and thus inhibiting fibrinolysis. a2PI is synthesized in the liver and circulates in the bloodstream, where it helps maintain blood clot stability. In mice, this protein is essential for preventing excessive fibrinolysis and maintaining hemostasis. a2PI also contributes to wound healing by regulating the degradation of extracellular matrix components.
