Target Information
Mouse adenylate cyclase 7 (ADCY7) is a 180 kDa 12-span membrane enzyme whose two catalytic domains convert ATP to cAMP under Gαs/βγ control. A solvent-exposed 18-aa "KVE" loop (aa 495-512) within the C1b domain projects between membrane bilayers, presenting a β-hairpin unique among murine ADCY isoforms and preserved after fixation. Antibodies to this loop detect native ADCY7 in olfactory epithelium, hippocampal neuropil and splenic lymphocytes, yielding crisp membrane rings and single-band blots without cross-reaction to ADCY5 or ADCY6.
