Target Information

Chicken tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) is a secreted proinflammatory cytokine of the TNF superfamily. It features a conserved C-terminal homotrimerization domain, a signal peptide sequence and receptor-binding motifs critical for structural integrity. It localizes to extracellular spaces, with tissue-specific expression in chicken spleen, thymus and activated immune cells, with minimal levels in non-lymphoid tissues. The protein mediates ligand-receptor interaction and signal transduction, with conserved functional regions shared with avian and mammalian orthologs, and has distinct binding specificity differentiating it from lymphotoxin-α.
