Target Information
Chicken osteocalcin is a 6 kDa, 49-residue vitamin-K-dependent protein synthesized exclusively by mature osteoblasts. It targets a conserved, species-restricted epitope within its three γ-carboxyglutamate (Gla) residues, which bind hydroxyapatite and anchor the peptide to the bone matrix. The compact α-helical structure exposes a unique C-terminal loop ideal for antibody generation; anti-osteocalcin immunoreagents detect intact molecule in serum, bone extracts and fixed tissue sections without cross-reacting with other Gla proteins, providing a precise read-out of osteoblast activity and matrix mineralization.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
