Target Information

Chicken Interleukin17 (IL17) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells, including CD4+ T cells and γδ T cells. It plays a key role in host defense and immune regulation. IL-17 stimulates the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-6 and IL-8, and enhances the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX2) and nitric oxide synthase. It also promotes the recruitment and activation of neutrophils. In chickens, IL-17 is involved in responses to various pathogens, including parasites and bacteria. Additionally, IL-17 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of certain diseases like coccidiosis. The IL-17 receptor complex, which includes IL-17RA and IL-17RC, is widely expressed and mediates the pro-inflammatory effects of IL-17.
