Carnosine is a 226-Da dipeptide whose β-alanyl-L-histidine sequence forms a stable hapten; a solvent-exposed 6-aa "KVE" motif (β-alanyl-histidine) linked to carrier presents a fixation-stable epitope unique among histidine-containing peptides. Antibodies to this conjugate detect carnosine in skeletal muscle, olfactory bulb and serum, yielding crisp cytoplasmic puncta and single-band blots without cross-reaction to anserine or homocarnosine.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
