Target Information

Canine adiponectin is a 247-amino acid adipokine synthesized and secreted exclusively by adipose tissue in dogs. It is the most abundant gene product in adipose tissue and plays a crucial role in insulin sensitivity and anti-inflammatory actions, particularly in the context of obesity and related metabolic disorders. Plasma concentrations of Adiponectin decrease with increased body fat, and it negatively correlates with body fat mass, being more abundant in lean animals.
