Target Information
Bovine wingless-type MMTV integration site family member 3A (WNT3A) is a secreted glycoprotein encoded by the Wnt3a gene in Bos taurus, mapped to chromosome 19. It belongs to the WNT protein family, featuring a conserved WNT core domain, multiple cysteine residues and a signal peptide critical for secretion and folding. It localizes to extracellular matrix and cell surface, with tissue-specific expression in bovine embryonic tissues, intestinal epithelium and mammary glands, with minimal levels in adult muscular tissues. The protein mediates cell fate regulation and tissue patterning, with conserved motifs for receptor binding and signaling activation. Bovine WNT3A shares core structural domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct expression profiles differentiating it from WNT1 and WNT5A isoforms.
