Target Information
Bovine Matrix Metalloproteinase 7 (MMP7), also known as matrilysin-1, is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase involved in the degradation of extracellular matrix components. It plays a key role in breaking down various substrates such as gelatin, elastin, and fibronectin. MMP7 is secreted as a proenzyme and activated by proteolytic cleavage. In bovine models, MMP7 is implicated in processes such as tissue remodeling, cell migration, and inflammation.
