Bovine CD40L is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with a characteristic trimeric extracellular domain structure. It maintains stable molecular assembly and retains highly conserved structural motifs under physiological conditions. This protein presents on cell surfaces and also exists in a soluble circulating form. Its unique transmembrane topology and ligand-specific structural features clearly distinguish it from intracellular enzymes, nuclear regulatory factors and secreted chemokine families.
